Pashinyan: Military equipment we got was a scrap metal

The views expressed by Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during the election campaign have not been met unambiguously in Yerevan.

VOİCEPRESS reports that according to the Armenian media, Pashinyan called the $ 42 million worth of military equipment purchased by Armenia as worthless metal scrap.

“Former President Serzh Sargsyan ordered $ 42 million worth of military equipment during his reign. The weapons were delivered to Armenia in 2016. In fact, these military equipment and weapons are nothing but metal scrap,” the Prime Minister said.

After Pashinyan`s speech, the Armenian press strongly criticized him:

“Such statements by the head of government are completely contrary to Armenia’s security issues. Even for political interests, Pashinyan is ready to discuss military security.”
