TANAP will play an important role in enhancing energy supply security.
VOICEPRESS reports that Georgi Bakhtadze, CEO of the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation, said in an interview with IPN. He said Georgia has gained international transit importance thanks to TANAP:
“Before TANAP commissioned, Georgia received 330 million cubic meters of gas from the Shah Deniz gas field. After the commissioning of the project, the volume of gas will gradually increase. In 2024-2026 the volume of gas transportation will reach 22 billion cubic meters. It will cost Georgia 1.1 billion of gas at a low price.
