The ceasefire lasted for a long time, decades, until the current escalation. There were some clashes on the line of contact, and in July of this year there were provocations by the Armenian side on the state border. However, there have not been such large-scale operations in the last 30 years. Therefore, everything will depend on the Armenians. First, will he abide by the ceasefire?

VOİCEPRESS reports that, the statement came from President Ilham Aliyev in an interview with Russia’s RBK television channel, commenting on the dependence of the ceasefire.

Continuing his speech, the President said:

“According to the information I received tonight and this morning, the Armenian forces made large-scale counterattacks in several directions, tried to retake Hadrut, in the Jabrayil region, in the northern direction, in the territories we liberated. In other words, they tried to regain as much as possible what they had lost in Moscow and what did not belong to them, because they understood that the parties could reach an agreement. Therefore, the main factor in strengthening the ceasefire will be that Armenia must come to terms with the fact that we have these territories, that it will never see those territories again, and make no attempt to take them back by military means.”
